Infrastructure Manager

The IT Infrastructure Manager will manage the implementation and maintenance of the SPL IT infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of networking, cloud engineering, cloud infrastructure, Wi-Fi and wireless networks, server administration, Active Directory, Office 365 administration, ITIL frameworks, and people management. The ideal candidate will ensure the reliability and efficiency of the SPL IT infrastructure systems to support the IT Operations and Business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Networking:
  • Implement and manage the SPL LAN, WAN, and VPN networks.
  • Enforce network policies and procedures to ensure security and compliance.
  • Configure and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implement network monitoring tools to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Optimize network performance through regular analysis and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to maintain and upgrade network infrastructure.
  • Ensure network redundancy and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested regularly.
  • Apply disaster recovery and business continuity plans and adhere to relevant policies.
• Broadcast Networking:
  • Liaise with the broadcast team to help setup and maintain broadcast networking systems and services.
  • Coordinate with broadcast teams to ensure high-quality transmission and minimal latency for broadcast services.
  • Coordinate with broadcast teams to implement redundancy and failover mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted broadcast services.
• Cloud Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure:
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, Oracle, or Google Cloud platforms.
  • Implement cloud strategies that align with business goals.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud solutions.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure deployment and management using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
  • Monitor cloud performance and optimize resource usage.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations in cloud environments.
  • Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions, integrating on-premises and cloud resources.
  • Liaise with the Digital team to ensure content delivery networks (CDNs) to optimize broadcast performance.
  • Coordinate with the relevant teams to ensure optimum and operational data lake infrastructure with good performance.
• Wi-Fi and Wireless Networks:
  • Deploy Wi-Fi networks to ensure robust and secure wireless connectivity services.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot wireless network issues.
  • Implement security measures to protect wireless networks from unauthorized access.
  • Optimize wireless network performance for various devices and applications.
• Server Administration:
  • Manage and maintain physical and virtual servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Perform regular backups, updates, and patch management.
  • Monitor server health and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity measures according to relevant policies.
• Active Directory:
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory services, including user account management, group policies, and access controls.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of Active Directory data.
  • Implement and manage directory synchronization with cloud services.
  • Act as the second line support and cooperate with service desk engineers to ensure all accounts are current.
• Office 365 Administration:
  • Manage Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Ensure seamless integration and synchronization with on-premises systems.
  • Provide user support and training for Office 365 applications.
  • Monitor and optimize Office 365 performance and security.
  • Implement single sign-on and MFA across all applications.
• ITIL and IT Service Management:
  • Apply ITIL best practices for IT service management.
  • Maintain and update the relevant IT service catalogues, SLAs, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure efficient incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Work with the IT Operation manager to continuously improve IT service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud and network professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Manage team workload and ensure timely completion of projects and tasks.
• Second-Line Support:
  • Act as second-line support for escalations from the service desk.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues that first-line support cannot resolve.
  • Provide guidance and training to service desk staff to improve first-line resolution rates.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of escalated issues to minimize business impact.

• Infrastructure Availability:
• Maintain a network uptime of 99.9% or higher.
• Ensure server availability of 99.9% or higher.
• Minimize downtime during maintenance and upgrades.
• Use automation tools to handle repetitive tasks, reducing manual effort and minimizing errors.
• Follow and apply incident response and problem resolution to minimize downtime and prevent recurring issues.
• Ensure server and storage capacity meets current and future business needs.
• Regularly review and optimize cloud resource usage to control costs.
• Work with the IT Operations Manager to assess and plan for future capacity needs, ensuring resources are available when needed.
