Type: Full-time | 18-Month Project Contract

Reports To: Digital Delivery Manager

About the Role

Join a legacy project at the heart of one of the world’s most significant cultural and religious landmarks. We are hiring an Information Security Officer to safeguard the digital infrastructure supporting the Third Expansion of the Mecca Grand Mosque.

This role ensures the integrity of digital platforms, BIM systems, and data environments by leading cybersecurity operations and compliance efforts. The right candidate will drive proactive threat assessments, enforce access controls, and collaborate with consultants, contractors, and technical teams to maintain world-class digital security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce cybersecurity and data governance policies.
  • Protect the Common Data Environment (CDE), cloud platforms, and project communication tools.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and monitor threat activity.
  • Manage access control, identity protocols, and secure data exchange.
  • Lead incident response planning and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001).
  • Train internal and external stakeholders on secure data handling practices.
  • Align all data management activities with cultural, legal, and religious standards.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity or digital risk management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Recognized certifications (CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer) are a plus.
  • Experience in securing construction or infrastructure IT ecosystems.
  • Proficiency in access control, encryption, and security auditing tools.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a strong advantage.
  • Due to religious and site access sensitivities, preference will be given to candidates who meet access eligibility for the Grand Mosque.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Demonstrated leadership in applying global cybersecurity frameworks in high-sensitivity projects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • High discretion and integrity in managing sensitive project data.
  • Strong commitment to protecting sacred and national assets through secure digital practices.
