Job description

Job Description:

This individual will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance required to maintain our industrial equipment and facility at an optimal level of operation, with an emphasis on mechanical power transmission, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Maintenance experience with industrial controls, 480-volt 3-phase electrical feeders, machining, robotics, and CNC is a plus. The individual will be required to work on mechanical and hydraulic presses, furnaces, grinders, steel preparation and coating equipment, gear shapers, robotics, CNC machining centers, laser cutters, dust and fume collection equipment, and HVAC equipment.

Requirements:

Specific Duties:

  • Report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and support the Reliability Engineer.
  • Main responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained during all duties.
  • Perform corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance on production equipment and facilities.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace worn parts in machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain correct fluid levels, replace filters, and change oil and grease, completing lubrication routes as scheduled.
  • Ensure work areas are free of hazards.
  • Assist external technicians/sub-contractors during external preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with planners to keep records of work activities, update standard procedures, part lists, and tools.
  • Report on work activities and progress to the supervisor.
  • Work independently or in teams to perform maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems.
  • Identify root causes of failures and suggest preventive actions.
  • Follow written instructions for scheduled preventive activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering to upgrade equipment for safety, functionality, and reliability.
  • Order parts and materials, estimate job durations accurately.
  • Use the computerized maintenance management system to manage work orders, parts, and records.
  • Work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
  • Willing to travel occasionally for training (<5%).

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in manufacturing with knowledge of mechanical power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, fabricating, pipe fitting, and construction trades.
  • Strong communication, analytical skills, and ability to multitask are required.
