In this role, you will leverage your engineering expertise to design and implement advanced computing systems tailored for industrial applications across various sectors, including Oil & Energy. Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain computer systems that improve industrial operations
2. Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyze requirements for new projects
3. Develop and configure control systems and software relevant to industrial processes
4. Oversee system integration tasks and perform rigorous testing
5. Troubleshoot software and hardware issues effectively
6. Ensure systems comply with industry standards and quality assurance protocols
7. Provide ongoing technical support to clients and stakeholders
8. Keep abreast of new technologies and methodologies in the field of industrial computing

Requirements

1. Experience in IT system setup, integration, and network operation, including commissioning, startup, and maintenance support of workshop networks and systems
2. Ability to liaise with area IT personnel to address interface issues between workshop, corporate networks, and third-party vendors
3. Experience addressing issues related to workshop networks and control systems
4. Participation in investigating breaches within plant operating facilities, if requested by security services
5. Expertise in workshop automation, control systems, networking, and systems
6. Good grasp of hardware interfacing, instrumentation techniques, SAP Plant Connectivity, IoT platforms like ThingWorx, Building Management Systems, scripting, and security configuration
7. Ability to solve complex technical problems and specify hardware, software, and application functionalities
8. Management of workshop networks and systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, OS, and other devices
9. Configuration and maintenance of OPC servers, scripting for automation, and support for patch management systems
10. Experience with hardware/software upgrades, backups, disaster recovery, and documentation
11. MSCE certification, or equivalent network administration certifications
12. CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications (or equivalent skills)
13. Excellent command of written and spoken English
14. Familiarity with maintenance processes in a manufacturing workshop environment
