Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain computer systems that improve industrial operations
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyze requirements for new projects
- Develop and configure control systems and software relevant to industrial processes
- Oversee system integration tasks and perform rigorous testing
- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues effectively
- Ensure systems comply with industry standards and quality assurance protocols
- Provide ongoing technical support to clients and stakeholders
- Keep abreast of new technologies and methodologies in the field of industrial computing
Requirements
- Experience in IT system setup, integration, and network operation, including commissioning, startup, and maintenance support of workshop networks and systems
- Ability to liaise with area IT personnel to address interface issues between workshop, corporate networks, and third-party vendors
- Experience addressing issues related to workshop networks and control systems
- Participation in investigating breaches within plant operating facilities, if requested by security services
- Expertise in workshop automation, control systems, networking, and systems
- Good grasp of hardware interfacing, instrumentation techniques, SAP Plant Connectivity, IoT platforms like ThingWorx, Building Management Systems, scripting, and security configuration
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and specify hardware, software, and application functionalities
- Management of workshop networks and systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, OS, and other devices
- Configuration and maintenance of OPC servers, scripting for automation, and support for patch management systems
- Experience with hardware/software upgrades, backups, disaster recovery, and documentation
- MSCE certification, or equivalent network administration certifications
- CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications (or equivalent skills)
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Familiarity with maintenance processes in a manufacturing workshop environment
