Job Description - IDS Instructor WSO (00072527)

Job Title: IDS Tornado Instructor WSO

BAE Systems is seeking to hire an experienced Tornado Instructor WSO based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. We are the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under government-to-government arrangements providing equipment, support, and training to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF). Our role involves maintaining RSAF aircraft and training RSAf personnel in aircraft operation, equipment, and weapons systems.

Qualifications:
  • Recent IWSO experience
  • At least 250 hours served as an IWSO
  • Flown IDS/GR4 within the last year as an IWSO
  • Total fighter time exceeding 1000 hours as a combat-ready WSO
  • Graduate of the RAF Academic Instructor Course or equivalent (qualification shortfall may be waived by customer)
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Training RSAF IDS pilots, WSOs, and instructors; serving and resolving general operational issues within the squadron
  • Mission planning training covering all phases from intelligence breakout to mission execution, including tactics and employment techniques
  • Active flying training on navigation, lookout responsibilities, systems management, crew coordination, weapons management, and situational awareness
  • Potential selection as Standardization Evaluation Flight Examiner
  • Weapons and Tactics employment training
  • Time management coaching for aircrew performance and platform instruction duties, including flight planning, enemy systems, electronic warfare, targeteering, radar operation, and navigation techniques

Candidates should possess good man-management and people development skills, management experience with engineering personnel, high interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask across engineering and management activities.
