JOB PURPOSE

The Aid for Trade Initiative for Arab States (AfTIAS 2.0) Program is a regional trade development initiative designed to enhance trade competitiveness and economic integration among Arab countries. Led by the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, AfTIAS 2.0 builds on the achievements of the first phase (AfTIAS 1.0) and aims to support Arab States in overcoming trade-related challenges.

In this context, the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), as the host of AfTIAS 2.0 Project Coordination and Management Unit (PCMU), is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Program Officer. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient program management at project, administrative, and governance levels, providing high-level project management and administrative support, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to successfully implement projects and meet governance requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist the AfTIAS 2.0 Program management team by providing technical assistance, quality project management, and administrative support.
  • Monitor the progress of AfTIAS 2.0 project implementation in collaboration with the Program Coordinator.
  • Support the organization and content preparation for AfTIAS 2.0 governance meetings and documentation.
  • Provide the Trust Fund Manager with necessary data in coordination with the ITFC Finance Department.
  • Prepare reports, executive summaries, and analysis of studies and reports.
  • Draft responses to queries and correspondence from internal and external partners as directed by the Line Manager.
  • Assist in research and studies related to the program as needed.
  • Support Monitoring & Evaluation activities for AfTIAS 2.0.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing the annual calendar of activities for AfTIAS.
  • Support ITFC Corporate Communications in covering the program and activities.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager or senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, economics, or a related field.

Professional Experience and Skills
  • At least 6 years of experience in project management or administrative support, preferably within a development organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with project management software is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of international trade and technical cooperation programs, especially in the Arab Region, is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with integrity, efficiency, and cultural sensitivity.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English is mandatory.
  • French language skills are preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
