Requirements
  • Qualification: Bachelor of Safety and Environment Engineering or diploma with relevant experience.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Job Specifications: Awareness of Civil Defense Regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Follow the safety policies and procedures in accordance with the department’s safety plan and the company’s overall objectives and strategy.
  • Utilize safety inspection checklists for daily safety inspections at facilities (covering automatic fire detection and fire suppression systems) in all plant areas in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for notifying the General Manager of serious issues related to workplace safety and issues which might result in media notification or litigation.
  • Regularly calibrate all safety equipment and inspect the operability of first aid supplies, fire equipment, and fire extinguishers throughout the site to ensure they are in serviceable and operable order in case of accidents.
  • Report unsafe conditions and/or unsafe acts of workers. Cordon off dangerous areas with proper fencing and provide visible warning signs.
  • Post safety information, instructions, warnings, and danger signs throughout the plant as directed by the general manager.
  • Maintain records of safety systems and devices, including serial numbers, locations, and expiry dates of each.
  • Identify potential risk areas and take necessary corrective actions for unsafe conditions.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and chemical safety concepts during safety inspections with the manufacturing department.
