You as a HSE Lead for sites will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of a comprehensive HSE program and related management systems for sites. Serve as a technical expert and resource in HSE matters and serve as the leader/resource in the assigned areas of responsibility. Manage the HSE systems, policies, processes, programs and compliance with all projects.


Your responsibilities


  • Manage and lead the HSE team to the overall administration and implementation of HSE
  • Initiatives, programs and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of operational risk assessments to help in identifying & mitigating hazards for critical activities.
  • Carry out or arrange workplace HSE inspections and audits and ensure that any remedial recommendations are implemented.
  • Audit subcontractors for compliance with HSE systems and procedures.
  • Maintain accident statistics, analyses trends and propose and take remedial actions where necessary.
  • Support and guide the site team in establishing and processing HSE initiatives, programs and procedures.
  • Ensure that company HSE policies, procedures, regulations and objectives are effectively implemented.
  • Foster continuous improvement of existing HSE Management Systems through sharing of best practices.
  • Monitor HSE Performance of Subcontractors and ensure contractual and other relevant requirements are satisfied adequately.
  • Assist with investigation of accidents, incidents (including ‘near misses) and dangerous occurrences and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and manage HSE awareness campaigns.
  • Ensure that all critical activities are risk assessed, and control measures are applied before execution.
  • Identify HSE training needs for subordinates.

Your background


  • Diploma in Safety Management (Dip) and/or NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent.
  • Certification in HSE audit.
  • 5 years’ HSE experience in the industry for projects and service operations.
  • 3-5 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of local & international HSE laws and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple service projects.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multinational work environment.
  • Excellent leadership, command and control skills.
