A leading company in the construction field seeks an HSE Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote health and safety practices on site. The role involves monitoring hazards, reporting incidents, and maintaining safety records, all aimed at creating a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, comprehensive job knowledge, and decision-making abilities to uphold safety standards.
1. Report directly to the HSE Supervisor/HSE Engineer/Site HSE Manager and provide full assistance to the Site HSE Team as well as the Project Manager.
2. Monitor health and safety hazards and the safety performance of all on-site workers to ensure safe work practices.
3. Encourage employees to take precautions and adhere to safety rules to protect themselves and the equipment they use.
4. Report all injuries, accidents/incidents, near misses, and hazards in the workplace, updating reports promptly in the safety portal.
5. Immediately report potential hazards to the HSE Supervisor, Project Management, SHADE’s employees, and subcontractors.
6. Collect, upload, and submit safety reports and data in the safety portal on time, including:
7. Ensure MSDS for all hazardous products are up-to-date and accessible to all workers.
8. Conduct daily risk assessments by all Foremen and Supervisors as per SHADE’s Safety Policy and Procedures.
9. Maintain professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and relevant project parties and representatives.
10. Attend all relevant health, safety, and environmental meetings as requested.
11. Ensure fire fighting equipment is provided and maintained properly.
12. Ensure First Aid facilities and kits are available in all workplace areas at all times.
13. Report and stop work activities that pose injury risks or dangerous conditions.
14. Display safety policies and relevant information on the Company Bulletin Board.
15. Maintain safety records and data in the safety portal continuously.
16. Attend safety meetings, department meetings, and other required gatherings.
17. Escalate safety issues through appropriate channels using email, mobile, or safety portal.
18. Report safety concerns, deviations, audits, and other documents timely on the safety portal.
19. Follow up and close safety observations (DSSI, ATS, NCR) promptly.
20. Submit weekly and monthly safety reports to the HSE lead on time.
21. Lead by example in safety practices.
