Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience as an engineer.

Job description

General Description of Role and Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate with the Client's respective departments and subsidiaries to understand specific business requirements for space utilization and future space needs.
  • Assist management in implementing an HSE Management System and enhancing employee safety culture.
  • Develop procedures to complement the HSE Management System.
  • Review and approve 'Permit to Work' applications, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments to ensure safe operations.
  • Conduct HSE audits and inspections of facilities.
  • Supervise safety contractors to ensure performance and operational readiness of HSE critical systems and equipment. Conduct safety inductions and other training for employees and contractors. Investigate and report incidents.
  • Develop HSE processes and procedures and supervise their implementation.
  • Monitor and control contractors for compliance with contractual and client HSE requirements.
  • Prepare various HSE reports and ad hoc reports as per the client's requirements.
  • Review current HSE processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near-misses to management.
  • Conduct and review Job Hazard Analyses and Risk Assessments for high-risk activities such as lifting, confined space work, excavation, and hot work.
  • Stay informed of relevant quality, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies, manuals, and procedures within Hill International, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills :

  • The candidate should have 12 years of experience in the health and safety field.
  • Good technical/engineering knowledge.
  • Proficiency in English and MS Office.
  • Excellent understanding of local HSE regulations and procedures per Abu Dhabi laws.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as an engineer, with an EHS-related master's degree, or
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience as an engineer, with an EHS-related bachelor's degree or NEBOSH diploma.
