Job Purpose

The HSE Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems and policies within the facility. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, supports safety awareness across departments, investigates incidents, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts that protect people, property, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

EHS Implementation & Compliance:
  1. Ensure implementation of EHS policies across the entire facility.
  2. Maintain full compliance with local regulations, corporate EHS standards, and Modon requirements.
  3. Support initiatives to uphold certifications such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, including audits and follow-ups.
Incident & Risk Management
  1. Investigate root causes of near misses and accidents; implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections to identify hazards.
  3. Lead safety drills and emergency response exercises.
Training & Awareness
  1. Deliver safety inductions and ongoing EHS training programs to employees and contractors.
  2. Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and toolbox talks.
Reporting & Documentation
  1. Prepare and present EHS performance reports and updates to management on a continuous basis.
  2. Maintain detailed records of incidents, inspections, risk assessments, and audit findings.
EHS Tracker & Performance Monitoring
  1. Ensure regular updates and execution of action items listed in the PPG EHS Tracker.
  2. Monitor progress of initiatives and provide feedback for improvement.
Certifications & Legal Compliance
  1. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely updates and renewals of required EHS certifications.
  2. Support preparation for external and internal EHS audits.
Job Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in an EHS or HSE role, preferably within industrial or manufacturing sectors.
  3. Strong knowledge of EHS standards, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and local regulations.
  4. Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (preferred).
  5. Strong presentation, investigation, and analytical skills.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office and EHS management systems.
  7. Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  8. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and lead safety initiatives.
