Job Summary:

The HSE Coordinator supports the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental policies across site operations. This role assists in risk assessments, inspections, and training activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. The coordinator plays a key role in daily HSE supervision, incident reporting, and promoting a strong safety culture among workers and contractors. It is ideal for individuals with strong organizational and communication skills who are passionate about workplace safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITY & AUTHORITY:

  • Support the implementation and enforcement of HSE policies, procedures, and standards across all work areas.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identifications, and assist in risk assessments.
  • Participate in incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Organize and deliver HSE-related inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records for inspections, incidents, training, and permits.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with site HSE requirements and report deviations to HSE management.
  • Coordinate the issuance and tracking of work permits (e.g., Hot Work, Confined Space, Work at Height).
  • Escalate safety concerns and non-compliance issues to the HSE Supervisor or HSE Manager.
  • Stop unsafe work when necessary and advise on immediate corrective actions.

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Fresh graduates with internship or co-op training in HSE will be considered.
  • Basic understanding of HSE principles and local regulations.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the HSE field.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
