Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing the Health, Safety and Environment strategy to ensure compliance with local and applicable international guidelines on Health, Safety and Environment and improve the safety and well-being of staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the compliance of MODON, NCEC, and applicable ISO standards.
- Ensure HSE and Security policies are in place and in use.
- Develop the strategy and roadmap of HSE activities in line with local regulatory and environmental compliance.
- Develop the enabling HSE culture to establish the HSE governance framework and promote right behaviors.
- Ensure employee, contractor, and visitor safety from occupational health effects.
- Proactively assess work-related HSE risks and implement controls to mitigate adverse effects, aiming for Zero work-related accidents.
- Develop performance monitoring structures for continuous improvement.
- Ensure measures are in place for emergency response and business continuity.
- Implement waste management systems for source control and environmentally friendly disposal, aiming for Zero waste.
- Enhance resource efficiency in operations to achieve environmental excellence.
- Manage site security to ensure safe and secure operations.
Qualification & Experience
- Engineering degree in chemical, industrial, mechanical, or related fields.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in HSE.
- Preferably NEBOSH Diploma or IGC certification.
Key Competencies
- HSE Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of local and international HSE regulations (e.g., SFDA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Risk Assessment & Incident Investigation: Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Ability to set safety goals, KPIs, and develop long-term HSE strategies aligned with business and regulatory needs.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead safety culture change, engage teams, and coach staff on safety behaviors.
- Crisis & Emergency Management: Prepare response plans, conduct simulations, and develop business continuity strategies.
- Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: Use data and performance indicators to improve HSE outcomes.
- Communication & Influence: Effectively promote safety awareness and influence positive behaviors at all levels.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency with HSE management systems and reporting tools (e.g., EHS software).
- Experience in auditing techniques and leading HSE audits.
- Knowledge of security management principles for site protection and access control.
- Experience with waste management and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Ability to deliver HSE training and develop competency programs.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (written and verbal).
- Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Hazardous Material Handling is a plus.
