Job Summary:


Under the guidance of the Housing Manager, repairs and maintains all aspects of the painted and varnished areas and surfaces.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities:


  • Attends to repairs and painting of all surface walls, floors, facades, ceilings and equipment both indoor and outdoor as per hotel standards to current, extension or any other properties maintained by the housing including rental spaces within housing area.
  • Attends to all furniture and fixtures for repair, replacement or new fixtures as per job orders under the guidance of the Housing Manager.
  • Ensures that all storage areas, workshop areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Takes full responsibility of storage and safety of all tools, gadgets and equipment including personal protective equipment’s.
  • Follows up to trace requests from maintenance log book, prioritizes the job’s and completes them in time to ensure minimum discomfort to colleagues.
  • Responsible for assisting in other personnel emergencies to colleagues to offer support to colleagues staying in hotel accommodation.
  • Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences, or hazards, no matter how minor, to the supervisor or Heads of Department
  • Conducts preventive maintenance as per seasonal requirements, assists in periodic cleaning of upholstery and heavy curtains of apts; common areas as per instruction.
  • Is vigilant at all times to observe and anticipate any major breakdown or miss-use of hotel property issued to housing by any person staying or visiting housing areas.
  • Checks and ensures accommodation is ready to the set standards of housing before rooms are allocated to new arrival colleagues, thus ensuring “Room to have a great start” for all.
  • Undertakes periodic A/C servicing and minor repairs as per seasonal changes and requests.
  • Ensures internet access and TV channels in colleague housing and management accommodation is working properly. Coordinates any repairs with POMEC team.
  • Ensures all accessories, lights, furniture and fixtures including walls, ceilings, bathroom fixtures, mirrors are in the best working condition and reports any missing or damaged items especially for colleagues on cancellations / exit visa” and reports and damages in time so that the hotel can recover damages as per Accommodation Agreement signed by the colleagues.

Self-Management:


  • Comply with hotel rules and regulations and provisions contained in the employment handbook.
  • Comply with company grooming standards at all times to portray a professional image of self and the hotel.
  • Comply with time and attendance policies set by the hotel.
  • Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development.
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to health, hygiene and fire life safety.
  • Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the line manager.
  • Comply with the company’s corporate code of conduct.
  • Familiarize self with the company values (Great Hotels Guests Love) and model desired behaviors (Winning Ways, Room to be Yourself) and ways of working (IHG Wheel).
  • Perform all tasks as directed by the manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals.
