Scope:
Develops, converts, and maintains potential accounts within a specific territory as defined by Management. Participates in reaching the hotel's revenue budget using sales tools and techniques, maximizing account potential, and following revenue directions. Informs Management about market behaviors, hotel image in the market, potential obstacles, or competitive threats.
Responsibilities and Obligations:
- Hotel Strategy and Budget: Contribute to the hotel strategy by providing regular inputs on market trends, needs, and opportunities. Organize activities to reach targets set by management. Sell all aspects of the hotel generating revenue (Rooms, F&B, Banquets).
- Account Management: Manage Business Accounts professionally and persistently to fill the hotel per the Sales and Marketing Plan. Ensure all aspects of account potential and contacts are screened and reported. Ensure that all conversations and decisions with clients are registered. Ensure efficient territory coverage through organized blitz, telemarketing, sales calls, site inspections, trade shows, workshops, and networking groups. Maintain a clean and up-to-date database. Ensure guest satisfaction with Sales, Reservations, C&E, and others by staying informed about the booking process and getting involved when needed.
- Respect and achieve the minimum number of sales calls, entertainment lunches or dinners, and site inspections required by management.
- Communicate leads to relevant sister-hotels, colleagues, or departments within the same day.
- Attitude and Communication toward the Client: Represent the hotel in the market and its strategy in client communications. Be correct and respectful with clients. Respect decisions and deadlines given to clients, even if another department is involved. Do not over-promise; ensure a 'Yes' is realistic and explain reasons for negative answers. Introduce all KEY accounts to the key Head of Department and DOSM. Organize client gatherings to create multi-level contacts within the hotel.
- Attitude and Communication toward Internal Colleagues and Departments: Maximize communication flow between colleagues from other departments to achieve guest satisfaction on time. Follow up on Leads.
- Keeping up the Standards: Read all policies and procedures for the Hotel and Sales Department. Be responsible for the quality of correspondence and communication internally and externally.
- People: Ensure a pleasant atmosphere in the Sales Department. Respect colleagues and superiors and choose appropriate communication tools and manners in case of potential conflicts. Be helpful with colleagues and superiors. Communicate pleasantly and professionally with other departments.
- Reporting: Attend daily and weekly meetings set by the Head of the department. Provide Management with Sales Statistics performance reports as per department standards and deliver reports within deadlines. Participate in Monthly Report production. Keep up to date with PMS available reports. Ensure all accounts are entered in the Front Office System for tracking results.
- Marketing: Follow up and implement marketing activities agreed upon in the rolling plan. Identify opportunities within the market and territory and inform management. Participate in mailings when required. Recommend internet presence on specific websites. Conform to brand standards and corporate identity.
- Credit Management: Ensure KEY accounts are credit approved. Extend credit as agreed with Finance and ensure accounts stay within pre-set credit limits. Initiate Credit Applications for potential accounts and assist the credit process with necessary documents. Assist the Credit department in reducing payment collection lead time.
Skills: Candidate must:
Have been in contact with a Sales Approach in the Hotel Industry or a similar industry.
Have a positive attitude towards guest service and show self-motivation.
Have a good command of the English language; Arabic is a plus.
Have Organization, Communication, and Negotiation skills.
Be an Implementer, Achiever, and Team Player.
