Job Description

We are seeking an INSTRUMENTATION DEPARTMENT MANAGER with 15 years of expertise. The candidate should manage and coordinate all instrumentation and automation departments by providing leadership, expertise, and direction. The candidate should ensure the level of competencies and capabilities (tools, procedures, organization, and resources) of all departments.

Interacts internally with Engineering Department Manager, Project Managers, Other Department Managers, and Proposal Managers.

Interacts externally with subcontracting engineering/service companies, clients' project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the Engineering teams, including recruitment, monitoring staff performance, and resource management, as well as allocation to projects and proposals. Maintain and develop department personnel proficiency in working methods, technical training, and career planning with the support of P&C.
  2. Define the department's orientations, objectives, and budget following company guidelines.
  3. Organize the discipline, processes, and work methods within the engineering policy and ensure their implementation.
  4. Represent the discipline to management, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and projects.
  5. Ensure the implementation of QHSE policies and promote a QHSE culture within the departments.
  6. Adhere to financial and staff utilization budgets and targets.
  7. Contribute to proposals and pre-qualification processes.
  8. Review man/hours, MTO quantities, and possibly cost estimates on proposals.
  9. Maintain contact with client organizations, vendors, subcontractors, and projects, representing the discipline.
  10. Ensure technical assurance of projects.
  11. Establish department strategy in conjunction with senior management, aligned with technology and business development.
  12. Coordinate different engineering disciplines.
  13. Keep senior management informed of operational issues and implement remedial or mitigation plans.
  14. Design department structure for efficient management, workload distribution, manpower, capacity planning, and tools development.
  15. Support ESG initiatives and digital transformation targets.
  16. Support financial performance objectives of the center.
Qualifications:
  1. Familiarity with all technical aspects of the discipline.
  2. Experience leading a discipline, including project discipline lead roles.
  3. Management and leadership skills.
  4. Interpersonal and influential skills.
  5. 15 years of experience in Oil and Gas project management.
  6. Extensive experience with Saudi Aramco projects and knowledge of Saudi Aramco specifications and processes.
  7. Experience coordinating with Saudi government authorities and relevant entities.
  8. Strong background collaborating with operational facilities, Saudi Aramco departments, third parties, and joint ventures.
  9. Ability to perform peer reviews and mentor team members.
