Job Purpose
- To be responsible for the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimization of high-voltage electrical systems.
- To ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure supporting critical services and energy systems, support high voltage projects and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the design, specification, and implementation of high-voltage electrical systems for various energy and infrastructure projects. Ensure that designs meet both technical and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the operation and preventive maintenance of high-voltage electrical equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and substations. Ensure system reliability, safety, and performance are maintained at optimal levels.
- Manage the execution of high-voltage electrical projects from inception to completion. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving issues in high-voltage systems. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for system failures.
- Ensure all HV electrical systems comply with national and international electrical standards (e.g.,
- IEC, NEC, local regulatory bodies). Adhere to strict safety standards to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system designs, operation manuals, maintenance logs, and inspection reports. Provide regular reports to management on the status of ongoing projects, system performance, and compliance.
- Abide by the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality, (HSEQ) policy, procedures necessary for the good conduct and safety of the workplace. It is a requirement and moral obligation of each employee to be actively committed and accountable to the compliance of Enova’s HSEQ policy, operating procedures, as well as being compliant with local legislation. The Employee shall seek clarification and guidance in specific cases or whenever one feels necessary.
- Develop a pro-active working relationship with all authorities and assist in establishing areas for service improvement.
Qualifications, Experiences, Skills
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in high-voltage electrical systems or power engineering are a plus.
- Experience with maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS).
- +8 years of experience working with high-voltage electrical systems in an industrial, energy, or infrastructure environment.
- Proven experience in the design, operation, and maintenance of HV electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and substations.
- Experience with electrical protection schemes, testing, and commissioning of high-voltage systems.
- Familiarity with electrical design software, SCADA systems, and control systems used in high-voltage operations.
- Experience with power quality analysis and system optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Must be certified by SEC KSA high voltage switching and operations
- Has strong understanding of engineering software, ETAP, AutoCAD, PLC and familiar with high voltage relay programming and settings of various switchgear protection system
- Strong knowledge of local and international electrical standards, codes, and regulations.
