Overview / Objective
To implement and coordinate a comprehensive Employee Health, Safety and Environmental System for the employees of Vallourec
Key Responsibilities
- To serve as the staff specialist in safety by developing and carrying out procedures with the line organization that effectively control accident and health exposures in the company and minimize OSHA citations
- Ensure that safe work rules and practices are understood, implemented and consistently followed by the SSPF employees
- Existence and awareness of a suitable and relevant health and safety policy
- A safe workplace without risk to health
- Safe plant and machinery, and safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances
- Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments
- Liaison as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions
- The workplace satisfies health, safety and welfare requirements for ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing and rest facilities
- Prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation and manual handling risks
- Surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices and systems
- Ensure due compliance with Safety/Environment regulations
- Designs, develops and conducts safety and environmental training programs
- Collects, analyzes and maintains data essential for effective safety and environmental programs
- Evaluates hazardous conditions and recommends engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or personal protective equipment
- Coordinate the implementation of the company's Health, Safety, and Environment policy
- participate in internal and external audits and launches corrective and preventive actions
- conduct the HSE risk assessments and coordinates the actions for mitigating and controlling the risk
- Monitor the implementation of Chemsafe - Quark
- To make sure adequate provision of first aid and welfare facilities and support are available for employees
- Provision of emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting to the relevant authorities
- Liaison as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions
- Surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices and systems
- Ensure due compliance with Safety/Environment regulations
- Collects analyze and maintains data essential for adequate safety and environmental programs
- Evaluates hazardous conditions for employees and the environment and recommend engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or personal protective equipment
- Coordinate proper and safe disposal of waste generated by the company
- Prepares and monitors division budget requirements and expenditures
- Understanding of the Company’s General Safety Rules and ability to identify safety signs
- Knowledge of the Company’s General Safety Rules and Safety Instructions in the designated Work Area
Requirements
- S3-5 Years of Experience of practical experience in an HSE environment and with solid knowledge of ISO and OSHAS standards
- .Occupational Safety and Health Certificate as a Professiona
- Necessary: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business Administration, Marketing) or equivalen
- Preferably possess a minimum of five years experience in a supervisory role
- .Computer literate, as will be required to use e-mail, excel & word to compile, produce, monitor, and interpret operational data and reports. Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- .Knowledge, understanding, and application of Company QHSE Policies and Procedures. Reliable, and able to work unsupervised, or co-operatively, within the production team, across the whole organization, and with external customers
- .Possess the ability to supervise effectively, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner
- .Must demonstrate a flexible approach to operational requirements in order to meet business objectives
- .Able to operate, ensuring the proper use and care of, company plant and equipment, machinery, personal equipment, and tool kit
- .Must demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to problem-solving
