Our client is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by guiding policies and ensuring the well-being of employees, contractors, and communities. Responsibilities include developing and implementing health and safety plans, enforcing policies, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines. They conduct training, investigate incidents, and provide recommendations for improvement to create a safe and compliant workplace environment.

Responsibilities :

We are looking for a reliable Health and Safety Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety laws within the company. You will also be responsible for establishing policies that promote a safe workplace.

As a safety manager, you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards, discover opportunities for improving conditions, and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines effectively to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
• Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
• Conduct training and presentations on health and safety matters and accident prevention
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws through inspections of employees and operations
• Inspect equipment and machinery to identify unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
• Recommend solutions for issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics

Requirements and Skills

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager in a construction environment with relevant qualifications, including NEBOSH
• Working knowledge and experience of the Middle East
• Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
• Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and observational abilities
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• BSc / BA in safety management or a relevant field is preferred
• Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
• Relevant degree is essential
