Job Title: Head of Tax @Siemens Saudi Arabia


Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia


Introduction:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Tax to join our team in Riyadh. As the Head of Tax, you will lead all tax activities for Siemens entities in Saudi Arabia, including tax compliance, tax planning, tax risk management, and tax reporting. You will work closely with various business units, finance, and accounting teams, as well as external tax consultants and auditors.


Your Role – Challenging and Future-Oriented:


  1. Implement local taxation guidelines, policies, and processes, and define local taxation optimization measures, with a focus on Corporate Income Tax and Value Added Tax.
  2. Ensure compliance with tax law provisions and adherence to the company’s tax strategy and policies.
  3. Support timely and tax-optimized preparation of financial statements in cooperation with the accounting function.
  4. Review business decisions for taxation impact, including project consultancy.
  5. Manage and coordinate tax audits, ensuring adequate documentation in cooperation with relevant business units and external advisors.
  6. Ensure all monthly tax closing and annual tax compliance for Siemens entities, including the preparation of tax returns, examination of financial accounts, and review of tax calculations according to local laws and regulations within stipulated deadlines, ensuring timely tax payments.
  7. Provide guidance to accounting and other business units on the required tax treatment of transactions.
  8. Analyze local laws and regulations to ensure legal compliance. Liaise with tax authorities and negotiate with tax officials at a tactical level.
  9. Collaborate with the regional tax team on various ongoing international projects.
  10. Proactively identify weaknesses in current processes and propose solutions to ensure tax processes deliver the correct output.
  11. Track legislative changes and inform different departments and business units about new developments in tax law and considerations.
  12. Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, reporting to the regional Tax Head and Country CFO.

Your Qualifications and Skills – Digital and Solid:


  1. You hold a Chartered Accountant, CPA, CMA, ACCA, or MBA (specializing in Finance and Accounting) from a reputable institute.
  2. You bring several years of experience in finance/accounting domain with leadership experience of 2-5 years.
  3. Experience in a multinational corporation or a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.
  4. Excellent verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills, with English fluency.
  5. Ability to handle multiple projects/entities simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment, both independently and within a team, with high accuracy.
  6. Ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders.
  7. Proficiency in tax compliance, planning, and reporting.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Solid SAP experience is an advantage.
