Functional Description:
The Head of Strategic Partnerships will lead the development, management, and expansion of high-impact partnerships with stakeholders, including industry, government, and academic institutions. This role will drive collaborative initiatives that align with the university’s mission, strategic objectives, and growth ambitions, enhancing research opportunities, student development, and institutional reputation. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage complex partnership agreements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership Development
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue partnership opportunities that align with the university’s goals and growth areas.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, government entities, and other educational institutions to foster collaborations.
- Develop a strategic plan for partnerships that enhances university programs, research initiatives, and global reputation.
Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all external partnerships, ensuring consistent communication and effective relationship management.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including faculty and administration, to align partnership objectives with university programs and resources.
- Oversee the lifecycle of partnerships, from inception through renewal, to maximize their impact and value.
Collaborative Project Development
- Collaborate with academic and administrative units to create and manage programs, research initiatives, and projects with strategic partners.
- Ensure that all collaborative projects meet university standards and achieve set objectives, assessing outcomes to ensure effectiveness.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Develop and implement performance metrics for partnerships to assess effectiveness and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on partnership progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all partnership agreements, contacts, and communications.
Branding and Representation
- Represent the university at external events, conferences, and networking opportunities to strengthen the university's brand and attract potential partners.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department to promote partnerships and showcase achievements.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, International Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or a related field, preferably within a university, government, or large corporate environment in a higher education setting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Excellent computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a track record of driving partnerships that align with organizational goals.
- Proficiency in project management and partnership performance analysis.
- Knowledge of the higher education sector and trends in academia-industry partnerships is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
