Job description

Job Purpose:

Lead the Research and Development function in the animal feed industry, ensuring continuous improvement in research activities and initiatives. This role involves seamless coordination with key departments including Planning, Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the Research & Development departments activities, ensuring alignment with the companys goals and industry standards.
• Guide R&D Managers and the Research Centre Manager on research-related issues and initiatives.
• Identify emerging opportunities in animal research to support business strategy.
• Develop and implement organization-wide R&D policies and targets to stay ahead of competitors.
• Evaluate and launch new R&D projects as necessary to ensure continued innovation.
• Uphold the highest standards for animal feed quality and safety through regular inspection, testing, and adherence to protocols.
• Oversee the Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure compliance with all industry standards.
• Manage the Laboratory Team responsible for testing and analyzing raw materials, in-process samples, and final products for quality and safety.

Support in Product Rationalization and Optimization:

• Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and optimize product design for maximum value.
• Work with the purchasing team to monitor raw material price fluctuations, identifying potential new raw material alternatives.
• Partner with Sales & Marketing to drive product rationalization efforts.
• Assist Sales & Marketing teams in conveying the technical benefits of new products to customers.
