About the job

To lead and oversee all media, content, and creative strategies that elevate Al Ahli Club's brand across local, regional, and global platforms. This role ensures the club’s visual identity, storytelling, and fan engagement are consistently innovative, impactful, and aligned with the club’s values and ambitions. As a key figure in the club’s brand transformation, the Head of Media & Creative plays a pivotal role in shaping how Al Ahli is seen and experienced by fans, partners, and the global sports community.

Responsibilities:

Media Strategy & Content Development

  • Design and execute a comprehensive media content strategy to grow audience engagement and international visibility.
  • Lead the planning and production of multimedia content including matchday coverage, behind-the-scenes features, fan stories, and branded campaigns.
  • Supervise live event coverage, interviews, press events, and post-match media output.
  • Lead media operations during live sports events, including pre/post-game coverage and real-time content capture.

Creative Direction

  • Set the creative vision for the club’s campaigns, content, and brand visuals.
  • Manage the development of high-impact creative assets including graphics, videos, animations, and written content.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure creative consistency and storytelling alignment.

Digital & Social Media

  • Work closely with digital and social media teams to develop platform-specific content strategies tailored for fan growth and interaction.
  • Ensure real-time, high-quality content delivery during matches, events, and news moments.
  • Monitor performance analytics to optimize content creation and fan experience.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital channels including websites, apps, and social media.
  • Monitor trends, innovations, and audience behavior to stay ahead of the curve in content development.

Sponsorship & Commercial Integration

  • Partner with the commercial team to integrate sponsors seamlessly into creative assets and content formats.
  • Develop innovative content formats that maximize partner visibility while enhancing the club narrative.
  • Innovate new ways to integrate sponsors into content without compromising creative integrity.

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead a cross-functional creative and media team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and third-party vendors, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest creative and technical standards.
  • Drive innovation through technology, design trends, and fan behavior insights.

Creative Leadership

  • Drive the creative vision for campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand identity and objectives.
  • Manage a team of designers, videographers, editors, copywriters, and freelancers to produce compelling creative assets.
  • Approve creative concepts, scripts, and storyboards for advertising, promotional, and sponsorship campaigns.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Marketing, Design, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or additional certifications in Media, Communications, Marketing, Design, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in media or creative leadership roles, with significant time in the sports or entertainment sector.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing original campaigns, branded content, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Deep understanding of the global football ecosystem, digital content trends, and fan engagement strategies.
  • Proven experience managing creative and production teams under tight timelines and high visibility.
  • Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights, YouTube Studio) to assess performance and ROI of media campaigns.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or other creative tools.
  • Understanding of digital media trends, video production workflows, and social media best practices.
  • Familiarity with media rights, licensing, and intellectual property relates to creative content.
  • Ability to evaluate content performance through data and adapt strategy accordingly.
  • Strong storytelling and editorial sensibility.
  • Effective in briefing, presenting concepts, and managing feedback loops with stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented with leadership presence and the ability to inspire creativity.
