Post Title: Head of Communications and Events

Location: King’s College Riyadh

Reporting to: Headmaster

JOB PURPOSE

The post of Marketing & Communications Lead is a role that integrates marketing, communications, events, and stakeholder relations functions.

This role has a strategic element, with the person expected to lead in devising the school's marketing, communications, and stakeholder relations strategy.

The Marketing & Communications Lead will create and implement an integrated program of marketing, communications, and external relations to benefit the school.

Reporting to the Headmaster, the Lead will work closely with the Head of Admissions, Senior Leadership Team, and interact regularly with the central team, including the Commercial Director.

The postholder will line manage the Front of House team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is practical, creative, organized, and an exceptional communicator. They will be inspiring, experienced in developing effective campaigns, and have a successful track record in marketing, communications, or public relations. Experience in an educational setting is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

This hands-on role requires empathy and commitment to high-quality education and the school's ethos. The candidate will be a key public face, responsible for organizing, developing, and leading marketing and communication efforts in close liaison with the Headmaster and supported by the Group Commercial Director.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

Digital Media
  • Create content for digital channels, monitor social media engagement, and produce reports.
  • Schedule posts on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok.
  • Monitor and respond to messages, follow specialists for opportunities online.
Outreach Activity
  • Proactively contact local organizations and arrange presentations, open days, and collaborations to drive enrollment.
  • Plan and execute community events and attend networking events.
Other Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on marketing and communication plans.
  • Build relationships with media and influencers.
  • Produce weekly parent newsletters, marketing collateral, support events, manage digital content, and ensure branding consistency.
  • Support reception and customer service, create surveys, review competitor activity, produce reports, oversee the Front of House team, and undertake other duties as assigned.

Skills and Person Specification

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a reputable university.
  • Postgraduate study evidence.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, experience in fast-paced environments, attention to detail, problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with digital channels, web tools, social media, CMS, HTML, CSS (desirable).
  • People skills, ability to work autonomously, maintain confidentiality, learn and adapt, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, demonstrate discretion, show initiative, negotiate, and organize effectively.
