When you work in Hawaii, in addition to learning about the functional aspects of running a hotel — like the proper way to make a bed or how to best handle luggage — it’s critically important to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family.’ When opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii, our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to help us understand what ‘ohana truly means.
You will be responsible for the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. The Head Mixologist is responsible for leading the beverage program, crafting innovative cocktails, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role involves managing the bar team, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and staying ahead of industry trends.
• Proven experience as a mixologist, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of cocktails, non-alcoholic spirits, wine, and beer.
• Strong creativity and ability to innovate in drink design.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management and bar operations software.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in bartending or mixology is preferred.
• May require standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working late hours.
• Fast-paced, customer-focused atmosphere.
