Qualifications

Job description

You are expected to work effectively as a member of a worldwide network of professional advisors, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress. You must also collaborate with a team of Global Trade professionals to analyze complex trade-related matters and provide recommendations on the most cost-effective and compliant way forward. You will assist in preparing reports to be delivered to clients and other parties. Additionally, you will develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and build strong internal relationships within the EY tax practice and across other service lines.

Key Technical Responsibilities

  1. Provide expert advice on global trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures, and assist clients in ensuring compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
  2. Analyze clients' supply chain operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and risk mitigation in their global trade activities.
  3. Help clients save costs through the use of Free Trade agreements and other Special Programs.
  4. Support clients during post-clearance audit programs and build cases to respond to Customs Authorities.
  5. Leverage EY's technology platforms to offer clients innovative solutions for trade management, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
  6. Stay updated on changes in global trade regulations and advise clients on implications for their business.
  7. Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and effective communication, understanding clients' business models to provide tailored solutions.
  8. Collaborate closely with other EY teams, such as Tax, Advisory, and Assurance, to deliver comprehensive services to clients.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  1. Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or related fields.
  2. At least two years of relevant experience as a customs and global trade professional.
  3. Experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred, but relevant industry experience will also be considered.
  4. Proven customs and trade advisory experience is required.

Ideally, you will also

  1. Have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  2. Experience working in multicultural teams.
  3. Possess strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
  4. Be independent in managing your workload, with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  5. Be an excellent team player.
