We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer. You will be responsible for evaluating soil and rock conditions to ensure the stability and safety of construction projects. Conduct on-site inspections to assess soil and rock properties.

Your new role, what's involved:

  • Conduct regular inspections of rock slopes to monitor for movement, erosion, or other signs of instability.
  • Perform detailed slope mapping, ensuring all geological structures are accurately documented and analyzed.
  • Assess site-specific geohazards, identify potential risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures (e.g., bolting, netting, drainage).
  • Oversee and inspect the application of shotcrete, ensuring proper technique, material use, and adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
  • Inspect and identify cavities, assess their impact on structural stability, and recommend methods for remediation and reinforcement.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, non-compliance issues, and corrective actions. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports summarizing inspection findings, project progress, and quality assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and other project personnel to ensure all geotechnical requirements are understood and quality standards are upheld.
  • Ensure all site activities comply with relevant safety standards, project specifications, and regulations.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Minimum of 15 years of geotechnical inspection experience, with a strong emphasis on rock slopes, geohazards, slope mapping, and mitigation measures.
  • Expertise in geotechnical engineering principles, including rock slope stabilization, shotcrete application, cavity remediation, and other mitigation techniques.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers in a relevant category.
  • Precision in conducting inspections and analyzing data.
  • Strong understanding of rock mechanics, geology, and relevant engineering principles.
  • Proven experience in analyzing the stability of rock slopes using industry standards and software.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey findings and recommendations.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work in various environments and adapt to changing project requirements.
