General Technician

Position Summary:

The General Technician is responsible for performing quick service maintenance and light repair tasks on vehicles efficiently and accurately. This includes services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, battery replacements, and other basic mechanical work. The technician must ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through quality workmanship and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform quick service tasks including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, fluid level checks and refills, battery replacements, and light mechanical repairs.
• Inspect vehicles for additional maintenance or repair needs and communicate findings to the service advisor.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical issues.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Ensure proper documentation of services performed.
• Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure timely service delivery.
• Stay up to date with current automotive technology and repair techniques.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive repair preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in automotive service or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Basic understanding of automotive systems and repair procedures.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools and standard shop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
