Job description

Principal Duties

  1. Works as a physician in one or more of the following assignments:
  2. Performs the professional duties of a General Practice physician in a manner consistent with his/her training and in accordance with the privileges delineated by the credentials committee.
  3. Out-patient clinics: Examines and treats patients, takes medical histories, makes diagnoses, and prescribes medications and therapies. Seeks specialist consultation when necessary.
  4. Follow patients through their illnesses at appropriately spaced intervals. Orders laboratory and x-ray procedures, interprets results, and applies preventive measures as needed. Performs physical examinations on employees, spouses, and children. Provides recommendations on fitness for employment and counsels patients on physical defects, arranging for treatment and follow-up. Advises the company on employees' health limitations and is familiar with local or industrial factors affecting health.
  5. Emergency Receiving Room: Determines emergencies, provides rapid treatment, makes quick decisions, and consults specialists if needed. Advises nursing staff, responds to remote medical advice calls, and may respond to outside emergencies, mainly during nights and weekends.
  6. Participates in peer review, performance improvement, and professional activities. Attends CME meetings as time permits. Provides evidence-based patient care.
  7. Completes medical records promptly, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality. Provides health counseling as needed.
  8. Attends professional and company meetings, prepares cases for ward rounds and staff meetings, and may prepare medical papers for presentation.

Experience

A minimum of two years of satisfactory practice in general medicine after internship, in a hospital, private practice, or equivalent.

Certifications/Other requirements

  • Proficient in English.
  • Good physical and mental condition.
  • Current medical license from the country of origin to practice.
  • Arabic language skills are preferred.
