Summary

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics.

Education / Qualification Required:
  1. Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
  2. Post-qualification certification from North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand, such as:
  • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
  • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
  • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
  • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Post-Qualifications:
  • Minimum seven (7) years of clinical experience post-certification in a subspecialty.
License:

Current and in good standing medical license to practice in the country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performing professional duties as a sub-specialist in accordance with the scope of care and privileges approved by the Chief of Department and Credentialing Committee.
  • Providing care in outpatient clinics and hospital wards.
  • Performing procedures according to privileges.
  • Providing consultation services to inpatients and outpatients within area of expertise.
  • Sharing on-call duties as per schedule.
  • Supervising assistants, junior physicians, and interns, and evaluating their work as requested.
  • Ensuring accurate and professional medical documentation and supervising team documentation.
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Communicating clearly with colleagues and patients.
  • Participating in administrative responsibilities related to patient care under division head supervision.
  • Providing patient and family education tailored to patient needs.
