About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and versatile General Mechanic to join the Engineering team at Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across plant rooms and associated equipment, including diesel generators, chillers, swimming pools, water heaters, and fire pumps, ensuring the hotel operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will also play an important role during the pre-opening phase by assisting with equipment commissioning, snagging, and setup activities to ensure the resort’s technical readiness.
What You Will Do
Assist in inspecting, testing, and commissioning mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems during the pre-opening phase to ensure compliance with operational standards.
Support snagging activities by identifying, reporting, and following up on deficiencies or defects in installations and new equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of systems including HVAC systems, plumbing, pumps, chillers, fire pumps, diesel generators, and general building maintenance.
Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance requests, guest service calls, and emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Maintain accurate daily records of all maintenance activities, inspections, parts replacements, and repairs.
Assist with setting up workshops, maintenance storerooms, and inventories of tools and spare parts during the pre-opening phase.
Monitor the condition of mechanical and infrastructure systems and report major repair needs or safety concerns promptly.
Support energy management initiatives by ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and recommending improvements where possible.
Ensure that all systems, particularly fire pumps, swimming pools, and backup generators, are compliant with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Follow all company and local safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including fire life safety and emergency response protocols.
Work collaboratively with the Engineering team and other departments to ensure a seamless guest and colleague experience.
What You Bring
A diploma, technical certification, or vocational training in General Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience across multiple trades, preferably in luxury hospitality, facilities management, or large-scale residential projects.
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general repair areas.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, building infrastructure systems, and guest room maintenance standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics is an advantage.
Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a proactive, service-driven approach to work.
Proficiency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
