ROLE OVERVIEW

The General Cargo Operations Manager will lead general cargo operations, including optimizing cargo flows, processes, procedures, safety, reporting, budgeting, and managing direct reports.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Management
  • Analyze stakeholder needs and influence to prioritize engagement strategies.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships through communication and meetings.
  • Act as primary contact for stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates.
  • Manage information dissemination for timely and accurate communication.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align stakeholder interests with organizational goals.
  • Identify and resolve potential conflicts proactively.
  • Mediate disputes, ensuring mutually beneficial resolutions.
Change Management
  • Provide leadership for cargo execution workstreams.
  • Develop strategies for effective scope delivery and performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop teams.
  • Establish objectives, policies, and procedures for operations.
  • Participate in planning and performance meetings.
  • Support team conflict resolution and provide performance feedback.
  • Ensure team training and adherence to safety standards.
  • Manage relationships with port authorities and suppliers.
  • Implement new equipment and systems.
  • Promote a safety culture and define safety procedures.
Project Management
  • Report to senior management on stakeholder engagement and risks.
  • Use data to refine management strategies.
  • Coordinate stakeholder involvement in projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate engagement activities.
Leadership
  • Prepare and deliver communication materials.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Utilize data analytics for decision-making.
