An established industry player seeks a skilled Anesthesiologist to join their dynamic team at a leading health center. Administers anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures performed at the JHAH Health Center. Assesses and treats critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Assists the Chief Anesthesiologist with other duties as assigned.
Responsible for serving as an Anesthesiologist specialist to provide consultation and administer the full range of anesthesia methods and techniques. Maintains high-level professional performance according to standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Works in a 24-hour service environment at the JHAH Health Center. Assists the Chief Anesthesiologist and may supervise the Anesthesia & Critical Care Division in their absence. Receives professional and administrative direction through discussions with the Chief Anesthesiologist, often working independently.
Daily contact with Chief Anesthesiology Services, physicians, nursing staff, operating room personnel, patients, and families.
Provides anesthesia using the full range of agents, methods, and techniques, observing safety standards and maintaining competence in anesthesia specialty.
Provides technical advice and guidance to nursing staff; offers orientation and training in new techniques and procedures.
Interviews patients pre-surgery to assess and develop anesthesia care plans, establishing rapport and alleviating fears.
Evaluates patients post-operatively to assess recovery, identify complications, and make recommendations.
Provides medical assessment and support to critically ill patients in Intensive Care and Step-down Units.
Assists the Chief Anesthesiologist in supervising the Recovery Room, serving Johns Hopkins Saudi Healthcare committees, and providing continuing education within the department. Acts as the Chief Anesthesiologist as assigned.
Stays current with new procedures and techniques in anesthesia.
Stands on-call as assigned for emergency surgeries and procedures.
Performs other duties as directed by the Chief Anesthesiologist and is required to live in hospital when on-call.
