Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Consultant

Job Responsibilities:

1. Diagnosing and treating patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including but not limited to conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and gastrointestinal cancers.
2. Performing endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and sigmoidoscopies to examine the digestive tract and obtain biopsies if necessary.
3. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood work, imaging studies, and stool analyses to aid in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal conditions.
4. Developing and implementing treatment plans for patients, which may include prescribing medications, recommending dietary modifications, and suggesting lifestyle changes.
5. Monitoring the progress of patients and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
6. Providing education and counseling to patients regarding their condition, treatment options, and preventive measures.
7. Collaborating with other medical specialists, including surgeons, radiologists, and oncologists, to coordinate multidisciplinary care for complex cases.
8. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation of patient encounters.

Anesthesiologist Qualifications/Skills:

1. Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
2. Completion of a residency program in internal medicine.
3. Completion of a fellowship program in gastroenterology.
4. Board certification in gastroenterology.
5. Valid state medical license to practice as a gastroenterologist.
6. 10 years’ experience as consultant and 5 years working in Saudi hospitals with valid SCHS license.
7. Continuous medical education and participation in professional development activities to stay updated with advancements in the field.
8. Strong commitment to patient care and quality improvement initiatives.
