The Role

We currently have an opening for a Gas Applications Engineer. This customer-facing role requires self-motivated individuals with strong consultative and communication skills to implement AspenTech's OSI solutions. The focus is on designing, installing, and configuring advanced oil & gas applications for SCADA control systems across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. You will oversee technical aspects of Professional Services for AspenTech's oil & gas utility products, working in coordination with engineering staff and customers. On-the-job training will be provided.

Your Impact
  • Develop and execute system build plans considering software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand operational needs, provide system training, and configure solutions accordingly.
  • Manage the technical aspects of Professional Services, including implementing the overall system design of AspenTech's products for real-time critical infrastructure control systems.
  • Conduct system and acceptance testing with end customers.
  • Work with product development and management teams to enhance AspenTech's offerings.
  • Travel to customer sites to deliver, test, and integrate systems successfully.
  • Represent AspenTech professionally with a positive attitude.
  • Manage projects diligently and with care.
  • Be decisive and innovative in resolving issues.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Project implementation or operational experience, preferably in the utility industry.
  • Strong communication skills for technical presentations and customer interactions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective time and project management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in operations or engineering within a gas utility or oil & gas energy sector.
  • Experience with real-time control systems, including SCADA solutions.
  • At least 1 year of engineering or oil & gas industry operations experience.
  • Knowledge of computer architectures, databases, operating systems, IT systems, and data center designs.
  • Understanding of oil & gas measurement principles and hydraulics.

The salary range for this role is $74,200 - $92,800. This range reflects our current estimate of possible base compensation but may vary based on factors. The role is eligible for bonus or incentive pay. We also offer comprehensive benefits, including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits.
