As we expand our gaming and esports division, we are seeking a passionate and innovative Gaming Strategy Lead to drive our esports initiatives and strategic partnerships.

Position Overview

The Gaming Strategy Lead will play a crucial role in developing and executing Wasserman's vision in the gaming and esports industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of the gaming and esports landscape who can develop growth opportunities, shape client strategies, and ensure successful delivery of esports-focused initiatives.

The ideal candidate is well-versed in gaming trends, understands the intricacies of esports, and possesses experience in building partnerships and marketing strategies that resonate with gaming audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and lead Wasserman's esports and gaming strategy, aligning with business objectives to drive growth and engagement.
    • Identify emerging trends, assess the competitive landscape, and proactively explore new opportunities in the esports and gaming ecosystem.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to define KPIs, revenue goals, and benchmarks to measure the success of gaming and esports initiatives.
  2. Client Strategy & Engagement:
    • Work directly with key clients to develop custom esports and gaming strategies, offering insights into brand positioning, audience engagement, and digital activations.
    • Create proposals, presentations, and campaign strategies to showcase Wasserman's expertise and vision for esports and gaming.
    • Build long-lasting client relationships, ensuring alignment with Wasserman's objectives and high client satisfaction.
  3. Business Development & Partnerships:
    • Identify and forge partnerships with gaming publishers, esports organizations, streaming platforms, and other stakeholders in the gaming ecosystem.
    • Develop strategic alliances and sponsorship opportunities that enhance Wasserman's presence in the esports space.
    • Collaborate with the sales and partnerships team to attract new clients and drive revenue growth.
  4. Market Insights & Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth research on gaming and esports industry trends, analyzing competitors, consumer behaviors, and market dynamics.
    • Generate reports and insights for clients, staying ahead of industry trends to inform decision-making.
    • Lead thought leadership initiatives, representing Wasserman's gaming expertise through articles, webinars, and industry events.
  5. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation within the gaming strategy division.
    • Act as the internal esports expert, educating and supporting various departments on gaming-related initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years of experience in a gaming strategy, esports management, or brand marketing role, with a proven record of strategic success within esports.
    • Experience working with brands, publishers, or teams in the esports/gaming ecosystem.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Deep understanding of the esports landscape, including knowledge of top esports titles, event structures, and key industry players.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
    • Proficiency in campaign management, project planning, and budget oversight.
  • Capabilities:
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience creating persuasive pitch decks and client presentations.
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and stakeholders, working effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • High level of creativity and strategic thinking to anticipate trends and leverage new opportunities in the gaming sector.
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications:
    • Established network of contacts within the gaming and esports industries.
    • Passion for gaming and esports with a genuine interest in the gaming community.
    • Background in content creation, influencer marketing, or experience with live streaming platforms (e.g., Twitch, YouTube Gaming) is a plus.
