Job description

Position Objectives:

  • Responsible for developing and executing long-term strategies and plans for the fiber business.
  • Driving revenue maximization, assessing risks, coordinating investment plans, and ensuring the proper utilization and monitoring of fiber infrastructure.
  • Will also be involved in market analysis, financial management, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive 10-year fiber business plan and strategy, including market analysis and growth opportunities.
  • Assess and identify potential risks and challenges for the fiber business, and coordinate mitigation plans.
  • Develop long-term (3-5 years) investment plans, considering end-of-life and long-term demand.
  • Coordinate with the Fiber Demand Management team to ensure consistency between annual budget/investment plans and long-term plans.
  • Manage strategy for build vs. lease decisions based on cost-benefit analysis.
  • Define technical requirements for Fiber Optic Media (FOM) systems and guide the delivery of all required FOM IT systems projects and change requests.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date infrastructure databases and coverage maps in coordination with the network team.
  • Monitor infrastructure utilization and raise flags for underutilization and overutilization.
  • Monitor infrastructure characteristics and raise flags for infrastructure reaching end-of-life, end-of-support, or is outdated.
  • Build and maintain a repository of Other Local Operators fiber infrastructure availability and pricing.
  • Develop long-term (3-5 years) demand forecasts beyond annual demand received.
  • Provide a segmented view per region of long-term demand.
  • Define and maintain KPIs and metrics required for the fiber business.
  • Oversee and monitor the performance of the fiber business.
  • Create fiber transmission performance reports.
  • Reforecast targets based on actuals and communicate to the Fiber Demand Management team.
  • Track all footprint-related and infrastructure utilization KPIs.
  • Develop an annual capacity plan
  • Develop Traffic and connectivity Forecast

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in strategic planning, infrastructure management, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Fluent in English, and Arabic would be beneficial.
