Job Purpose
For a billable position at a client site
Role and Responsibilities
1. Test Planning and Strategy
Contribute to or own the creation of detailed test plans and strategies.
Define test scope, objectives, resources, timelines, and deliverables.
2. Test Design and Execution
Design high-quality test cases based on business and technical requirements.
Execute functional and non-functional tests, including regression and integration tests.
Use testing tools for test management, defect tracking, and reporting.
3. Defect Management
Identify, log, and track defects with appropriate severity and priority.
Work closely with developers and business analysts to ensure timely resolution.
4. Automation and Tools
Develop and maintain automated test scripts (if automation is part of the role).
Identify opportunities for test automation and performance improvements.
5. Mentoring and Leadership
Mentor junior testers and guide them in best practices.
Review test artifacts created by others to ensure quality and completeness.
6. Communication and Collaboration
Act as a key point of contact between the testing team and stakeholders (developers, business users, PMs).
Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) or test status meetings.
7. Quality Advocacy
Champion quality across the SDLC by promoting shift-left testing practices.
Proactively raise concerns and offer solutions to prevent defects early in the lifecycle.
