Job description

Lead and coordinate structural fitting activities and resource utilization within the Curved Block Assembly Department, to ensure safe, accurate, and timely execution of production tasks in compliance with technical specifications and safety standards, to meet operational goals and uphold the IMI Management System Standard for safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily structural fitting activities to ensure safe and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Monitor technicians to confirm fitting and carpentry work is performed according to applicable codes and work standards.
  • Ensure accurate implementation of technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Identify and apply appropriate equipment and methods based on job requirements.
  • Verify possession of valid work permits (Hot/Cold/Isolation, etc.) before commencing any production activity.
  • Develop and refine work standards to enhance safety, efficiency, and overall productivity.
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings and implement risk mitigation measures relevant to the job.
  • Observe technicians to ensure consistent adherence to safety protocols during operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) responsibilities in accordance with the IMI Management System Standard.
  • Inspect tools and equipment regularly to maintain safe and functional conditions.
  • Monitor material usage and report potential shortages early to avoid disruptions in workflow.
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 12 years’ experience in Offshore Shipyard/Ship repair Industry.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Certified 1G and 2G (ABS/Class Certified).
  • 1G and 2G qualified.
  • Good at calculating and measuring with basic math knowledge.
  • Person with computer skills is preferred.
  • Reading & understanding various production drawings as well as cutting and grinding operations.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective equipment (such as face‑shield, gloves etc.).
