Job description

You as a Forman - Assembly will be part of Hitachi Energy High Voltage Business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. You will be assembling GIS components and modules into complete bays and performing routine tests through a lean and flow production line with outstanding performance that is targeting the best quality, maximum cost saving and shortest delivery time. Controlling the quality of GIS.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Performing Assembly, repair and routine tests (Mechanical, 10KV, HV, functional & resistance measurements) of GIS bays (including components & modules) according to the prepared work instructions, drawings, bill of materials, checklists, guidelines and customer order data.
  2. Fulfilling orders related work packages according to production data and instructions.
  3. Self-check of work packages’ results, filling out and confirming on assigned checklists and protocols.
  4. Targeting the best performance in terms of quality, cost and delivery time.
  5. Adequately handling factory equipment and tools, maintaining test equipment and ensuring proper continuous calibration.
  6. Quality control and immediate escalation of quality issues. Recording deviations, supporting root cause analysis of failures, and writing quality problem or non-conformance reports.
  7. Supporting the gathering of product improvement comments or feedback from GIS LSC (local Service Center) engineers.
  8. Actively supporting teamwork, effectively communicating and collaborating with internal customers, stakeholders, or colleagues (assembly, testing, logistics, etc.).
  9. Independently following factory rules and guidelines related to safety, quality, environment, recycling, and housekeeping.
  10. Maintaining a safe working environment by following Hitachi Energy HSE guidelines and reporting any irregularities to superiors.
  11. Contributing actively to continuous improvement processes and Lean culture.
  12. Providing feedback, sharing ideas and observations whenever possible.
  13. Carrying out any tasks assigned by management necessary to fulfill the job requirements.

Your Background

  1. Diploma in electrical engineering.
  2. 4 - 5 years of experience in a production facility (assembly & testing).
  3. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material lists.
  4. Excellent verbal & written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
  5. Understanding of lean concepts & minimizing all related 7 wastes.
  6. Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
