Fleet Maintenance Manager:
Overseeing the maintenance and repair of vehicles in a company's fleet, ensuring that they operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This job requires a strong understanding of fleet management and technology, as well as the ability to manage a team and interact with management and other stakeholders. Additionally, Fleet Maintenance Managers must remain up-to-date on industry regulations and technology advancements, and continually assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the inspection, diagnostics, and maintenance of the company’s distribution fleet (trucks, vans, and specialized delivery vehicles).
- Plan and supervise scheduled repairs to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure uninterrupted supply chain flow.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with Saudi regulatory safety and environmental standards.
- Develop and execute a preventative maintenance plan aligned with FMCG delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle service history, performance, repairs, and compliance reports.
- Monitor and manage fleet-related budgets, focusing on cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
- Lead and train a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff; set performance KPIs.
- Coordinate vehicle procurement, replacements, and responsible disposal based on lifecycle cost analysis.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery performance, reduce costs, and increase fleet utilization.
- Collaborate closely with the logistics and operations teams to anticipate delivery demands and ensure vehicle readiness.
- Act as the main point of contact for fleet-related concerns from internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Automotive Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fleet maintenance management, preferably in FMCG or logistics-intensive sectors.
- Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and workshop operations.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a multi-location fleet operation.
- Solid knowledge of Saudi transportation laws, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
