Description

INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking Fire Watchman to join our dynamic team. The primary responsibility of Fire Watchman is to monitor hot work activities (such as electrical work, cutting, and grinding) in hazardous oil and gas environments to prevent fires. The candidate shall ensure compliance with fire safety protocols, recognize potential hazards, and respond effectively in case of emergencies.


Responsibilities:


Hazard Recognition & Risk Assessment


  • Identify potential fire hazards, including combustible materials, flammable gases, and unsafe work conditions.
  • Assess work areas for oxygen-deficient or toxic atmospheres using Authorized Gas Testing (AGT) procedures.
  • Communicate identified hazards to the work crew and safety personnel before starting hot work.

PTW & Safety Compliance


  • Ensure that all hot work is performed under a valid Hot Work Permit and in accordance with site Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
  • Verify that fire protection systems (fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and suppression systems) are in place and operational.
  • Confirm that emergency shutdown and evacuation procedures are clearly understood by the work team.
  • Stay on-site throughout the hot work operation and monitor for any signs of fire, sparks, or unsafe conditions.
  • Perform final inspections to confirm the area is safe before closing the permit.
  • Respond effectively in fire or gas release emergencies, ensuring the safety of all personnel.

Coordination & Reporting


  • Communicate regularly with safety officers, permit issuers, and the work crew about fire safety and hazard control measures.
  • Immediately report any fire hazards, gas leaks, or non-compliance issues to the responsible authorities.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:


  • Intermediate / DAE (Electrical / Instrument)
  • Minimum 3-4 Years of Experience
  • Industrial Experience with Familiarity with Industrial Safety Standards is must.
  • Oil & Gas and petrochemical experience shall be preferred.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia/transferable Iqama/driving license shall be preferred.
  • Ability to understand & Speak in English clearly.
