Job description

Job Purpose

  • The Lead Fire Protection Engineer will lead fire safety design, risk assessments, emergency response planning, and implementation of fire protection systems to safeguard personnel, assets, and operations at SAMI Aerospace Mechanics facility, ensuring full compliance with company standards including HCIS SAF directives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain fire protection engineering designs and standards aligned with applicable codes, regulations, company policies, and HCIS SAF directives.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify and mitigate fire hazards.
  • Lead the selection, design, and installation oversight of fire detection, alarm, suppression, and extinguishing systems.
  • Lead the emergency response team to develop and update fire emergency response plans and drills.
  • Investigate fire incidents, recommend corrective actions, and support root cause analysis efforts.
  • Provide technical fire safety expertise and training to employees and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international fire safety codes (e.g., NFPA, OSHA), and corporate HCIS SAF directives.
  • Support facility design and modification projects with fire protection input.
  • Coordinate with external fire safety agencies and emergency services.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Science, Safety Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 -10 years of experience in fire protection engineering, preferably within industrial or process facilities.
  • Professional certifications such as CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist), PE (Professional Engineer), or NFPA certificates.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with HCIS SAF directives related to fire safety and emergency response.
  • Deep knowledge of fire protection systems, codes, and standards (NFPA, IFC, OSHA).
  • Proven experience in fire risk assessment, system design, and emergency response planning.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external agencies.
