The job ad is for a senior financial controller (individual contributor) – a new role / an addition to the existing team. The finalist must be a native / bilingual Arabic speaker.

Role overview

The Financial Controller position covers ownership and accountability for the Record to Report (R2R) figures reported in the country for both local GAAP and US GAAP. The Controller is expected to ensure compliance with all local finance and accounting statutes. The role provides accounting oversight supported by outsourced operations. This position will oversee financial control for Cisco entities in Saudi Arabia. A successful Controller will build and maintain strong relationships with other Finance functions such as Tax, Treasury, Sales, and Service Finance, as well as with Business leaders and external professional firms like auditors.

What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Group Accounting and Reporting Organization for the country, ensuring effective R2R delivery, including management of close and reporting processes in line with Cisco policies.
  • Act as escalation point for critical GAR issues impacting business, providing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure statutory and tax compliance for three entities in the country.
  • Manage Cisco internal audits and controls (ICS, GRC, SOX).
  • Coordinate with the close consolidation team to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Handle tasks requiring physical presence, such as releasing bank payments and managing physical documents.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Oversee dispute resolution processes.
  • Supervise outsourced accounting team for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with peers and external auditors.
  • Represent GAR during physical visits by authorities.
  • Conduct country review of the balance sheet with management.
  • Partner with cross-financial teams on corporate finance initiatives.
  • Serve as main contact for FP&A on actuals and forecasts.
Continuous Improvement
  • Update policies based on legislative changes.
  • Participate in model changes and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and scalability.
  • Lead projects on processes and accounting requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Recognized accounting qualification.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, ideally in an international environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Saudi regulations, and IFRS.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; fluency in Arabic required.
  • Experience dealing with local authorities.
Required Technical Skills
  • Data analysis, Oracle, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Hyperion (advantageous).

  • Ability to work independently and manage vendors.
