Job description

The Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring that the financial department's activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and legal requirements. This role involves managing the accounting team, overseeing daily operations, and providing strategic financial advice to upper management. The Financial Controller will also oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, and manage financial audits.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of the accounting department's activities with financial policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Implement approved work programs to fulfill departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in providing accounting advice to senior management.
  • Manage and lead the accounting team, assigning tasks and monitoring individual performance for productivity and efficiency.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and supervise team performance.
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations for accuracy.
  • Validate monthly depreciation schedules, provisions, and commissions.
  • Review daily sales reports and distribute them to relevant areas and branches.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and debt recovery schedules.
  • Prepare periodic reports for the CFO, ensuring accuracy in reports prepared by accountants.
  • Supervise periodic and annual inventory counts.
  • Oversee payroll preparation for employees at the company and subsidiaries.
  • Review and validate disbursement requests, construction invoices, and contracts.
  • Approve payments for advances and invoices to suppliers and employees.
  • Manage inquiries from department managers and employees, addressing concerns as needed.
  • Supervise month-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines for month-end and year-end closings.
  • Manage the company's Zakat and VAT files, ensuring compliance with tax authority requirements.
  • Manage inter-company accounting operations between the holding company and subsidiaries.
  • Address all matters related to the company's bank and treasury accounts.
  • Contribute support for feasibility studies and new investment projects.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of the companys stock portfolio and other investments.
  • Provide advice and solutions to departments on accounting-related issues.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to meet audit requirements in a timely manner.
  • Prepare annual budget needs for the finance department and report on activities and achievements.
  • Ensure correctness and governance in the company's accounting software operations.
  • Understand real estate evaluations and off-plan sales systems.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the CFO.

Skills

Educational Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience (2-3 years of auditing experience preferred).

Languages Required:

  • Arabic:Excellent level of speaking and writing.
  • English:Excellent level of speaking and writing.

Professional Knowledge:

  • Audit Programs and Tools

Professional Certification:

  • CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
