Finance Applications Senior Manager Nahdi

Support in the development, implementation, and management of IT applications that support and enhance the operational efficiency and service delivery of the retail business. This role involves applications operational planning to align IT applications with business goals to ensure effective application development and maintenance, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the development and management of the IT applications, this involves short-term planning to align the application strategy with the business's overall objectives and technological advancements.
  • Working closely with the internal customer and super users fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment to build IT applications capable of meeting organizational goals, through effective analyses of technical requirements and translating it into technical features.
  • Overseeing multiple application development and implementation projects. This includes setting timelines, allocating resources, managing budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered on time.
  • Managing the applications, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization. This involves regular assessments to determine the effectiveness of each application and decisions regarding upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with software vendors and other external partners. Also, liaising with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensuring the applications meet these requirements.
  • Developing and managing the budget for the IT applications department this includes cost-benefit analysis for new investments, monitoring spending, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the organization's application framework.
  • Ensuring that applications comply with relevant laws and regulations, particularly those relating to data security and privacy. Also involves assessing and mitigating risks associated with the use of these applications.
  • Overseeing the integration of applications to ensure seamless operation and data consistency across the organization. This also involves optimizing application performance for better efficiency and user experience.
  • Implementing quality assurance processes and overseeing the testing of new and existing applications to ensure they meet the required standards and are free from defects.
  • Overseeing data management practices within applications and utilizing data analytics to inform business decisions and improve application services.
  • Ensuring that end-users are effectively trained on new applications and providing ongoing support to maximize the utility of application investments.
  • Leading change management initiatives related to the implementation and adoption of new applications or major changes to existing ones.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Systems, can be advantageous.

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in IT application and management, ideally in the retail sector.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role, overseeing IT teams and projects.

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (like Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), programming languages, and frameworks relevant to the organization's tech stack.
  • Understanding of database technologies, SQL, and data management practices.
  • Skills in analyzing business requirements and transforming them into technical specifications.
  • Awareness of networking, hardware, and software infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, data protection, and risk management.
  • Understanding of cloud services (like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Trello, or Microsoft Project for managing IT projects.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
