Job Purpose

Lead the Final Assembly Team to achieve the production targets and maintain high levels of efficiency, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.

Job Context

Ensure compliance with all HSE, Quality, Inventory, On-Time Delivery, and Productivity requirements by the Assembly Line Team.

Job Dimensions

The role involves regular interaction with all business functions, especially Fabrication and SCM. Interactions with Internal Sales are also common.

Key Accountabilities
  • Meet daily final assembly targets as per production planning.
  • Allocate workload to blue-collar workers daily based on capacity and plan.
  • Be accountable for achieving daily assembly targets.
  • Maintain efficiency above 85% for the entire Final Assembly area.
  • Ensure overall housekeeping and act as a 6S champion on the shop floor.
  • Ensure tools and fixtures are in working condition and conduct maintenance when required.
  • Adhere to ISO quality standards and safety standards.
  • Facilitate a safe working environment and follow safety procedures at each workstation.
  • Ensure all production staff are aware of HSE procedures, rules, and initiatives.
  • Read mechanical and electrical drawings, BOM, and understand from Teamcenter.
  • Possess technical knowledge to interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.
  • Promote positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement using lean methodologies.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Over 5 years of leadership experience in a production environment, preferably electrical/mechanical assembly.
  • Experience in assembly plants within reputed organizations; experience in the switchgear industry is advantageous.
  • Technical degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Self-motivated with initiative to handle additional responsibilities and challenges.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean tools such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Gemba.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills to manage a team of over 200 blue-collar employees.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of the impacts of poor quality and safety in manufacturing.
