Job description

Role Summary :

The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, monitors, troubleshoots, and repairs Flowserve’s pumps, seals, and other equipment across industries such as oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, coal, and wastewater, depending on customer engagement.

In this position, the Field Service Technician (FST) provides real-time technical support to customers, offering recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacements. The FST actively troubleshoots problems and implements solutions onsite at customer facilities.

Our Field Service Technician team represents Flowserve, delivering world-class service to our customers and creating a competitive advantage for our products and services.

Responsibilities & Requirements :

  1. Make in-person service calls responding to customer requests.
  2. Assess mechanical problems and resolve them promptly.
  3. Work alongside customer personnel and lead work crews as needed.
  4. Oversee the full repair cycle: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly.
  5. Ensure successful and timely equipment installation.
  6. Check equipment prior to start-up and evaluate performance.
  7. Monitor maintenance and performance of Flowserve equipment.
  8. Train customers on proper operation and maintenance procedures.
  9. Collaborate with Flowserve support teams, including repair centers, customer service, and sales engineering.
  10. Maintain accurate records of daily reports, jobs quoted, jobs performed, and materials used.
  11. Possess knowledge of industrial applications and operations of pumps, valves, seals, actuators, and mechanical equipment.
  12. Experience in installing mechanical equipment.
  13. Experience in repairing pump equipment, installing mechanical seals, and changing seal faces, gaskets, and O-rings.
  14. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics accurately.
  15. Be a self-starter with good follow-through, capable of working independently.
  16. Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  17. Hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  18. Able to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods.
  19. Able to work overtime as needed to minimize customer impact.
  20. Physical activity required: frequent lifting up to 50 pounds / 25kg, climbing ladders and staircases, and working around large equipment outdoors year-round.
  21. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  22. Demonstrate Flowserve’s values for ethics, safety, and quality through words and actions.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience / Skills :

  • Professional certifications in this field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
