Job Title: Field Application Specialist Saudi Arabia
Location: Saudi Arabia (Nationwide Field-Based Role)

Reports To: Field Applications Manager Middle East
Position Summary
At Cepheid , we are driven by our purpose: to deliver accurate, rapid, and accessible molecular diagnostic solutions that transform patient care. As a Field Application Specialist (FAS) in KSA , you will play a critical frontline role by providing expert pre- and post-sales technical support to healthcare providers, clinical laboratories, and public health institutions.
You will work hand-in-hand with Sales, Marketing, Scientific Affairs, Technical Support, and Service teams to drive customer success, ensuring smooth system integration, assay implementation, and maximum clinical impact. Your role is instrumental in accelerating access to molecular diagnostics across the Kingdom, enabling better outcomes and supporting our vision of a healthier world.
Key Purpose and Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical expert for Cepheid systems, connectivity solutions, and assay portfolios in customer settings.

Lead onsite implementation and validation of systems and assays to ensure successful customer Go Live and accreditation.

Conduct product demonstrations, scientific presentations, and hands-on training to new and existing customers.

Collaborate with Sales in developing account strategies aimed at growing Cepheid adoption and menu utilization.

Support tender evaluations, clinical assessments, and proof-of-performance studies with relevant stakeholders.

Lead proactive preventive maintenance, installations, system upgrades, and troubleshooting on site.

Maintain accurate documentation in Salesforce (SFDC) , including site visits, training logs, market insights, and service-related notes.

Manage field inventory and ensure availability of spare parts and tools for technical support.

Partner with Scientific Affairs to align local medical evidence with international and national protocols , ensuring stakeholders fully understand the clinical value of Cepheid s solutions.

Drive high levels of customer satisfaction by acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring product performance optimization.

Serve as a technical liaison across teams for customer escalations, post-market surveillance, and product feedback .

Participate in the development of customer-facing materials , including training content, SOPs, and FAQs.
Training Responsibilities

Complete all mandatory internal and external training requirements in a timely and satisfactory manner.

For managers: ensure all direct reports fulfill their assigned training obligations and certifications on time.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:

Bachelor s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field (Master s degree is a plus).

Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience , specifically in virology, microbiology, molecular biology, or oncology .

Demonstrated hands-on experience in PCR technology , molecular workflows, and diagnostic instrumentation.

Proficient understanding of:

Sample collection & preparation workflows

Laboratory diagnostics equipment and LIS connectivity

Accreditation and validation protocols (CAP, ISO, etc.)

Fluency in Arabic is mandatory; proficiency in English is preferred.

Willingness to spend 75 80% of time on-site with customers across KSA.

Valid Saudi motor vehicle license required.
Preferred:

Familiarity with customer workflows in both public health and private laboratory settings.

Experience in delivering technical training and scientific communication.

Exposure to Salesforce or similar CRM tools for case tracking and reporting.
Additional Information

This role requires regular domestic travel across Saudi Arabia and occasional international travel (e.g., UAE or France) for training and team meetings.
