Position Summary

As a Field Applications Specialist, you will serve as a scientific and technical expert, providing comprehensive pre- and post-sales support across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You will play a critical role in empowering our customers—from system implementation and connectivity to assay training and post-go-live accreditation. Collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Service, Technical Support, and Scientific Affairs, you’ll help drive adoption and deliver a seamless customer experience that reflects Cepheid’s gold standard in diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Integration & Onboarding: Lead on-site system installations, workflow optimization, and technical guidance to support a fast and successful customer go-live.
2. Assay & Connectivity Training: Deliver hands-on training on Cepheid systems, software, reagents, and connectivity solutions to current and potential users.
3. Customer Engagement: Build trusted relationships with stakeholders to drive adoption, educate on clinical impact, and identify unmet needs.
4. Field Technical Support: Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and upgrades with a focus on uptime and customer satisfaction.
5. Scientific Enablement: Conduct product demonstrations, seminars, and workshops to expand thought-leader advocacy and drive demand.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Sales and Marketing to develop tailored account strategies and ensure alignment on growth objectives.
7. Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate records in Salesforce (SFDC), comply with Danaher documentation standards, and support CAP/CBAHI requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences, with strong background in Molecular Biology, Virology, or Microbiology (Master’s preferred).
2. 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience in molecular diagnostics, virology, or microbiology.
3. Fluency in Arabic is essential; strong proficiency in English preferred.
4. Demonstrated experience with PCR workflows, laboratory automation, and LIS/connectivity systems.
5. Strong presentation, troubleshooting, and customer-facing communication skills.
6. Proven track record in technical training, customer support, and scientific engagement.
7. Knowledge of Saudi health regulations, accreditation standards (CAP/CBAHI), and healthcare market dynamics.
8. Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce and ERP tools like SAP.

1. 60% travel within KSA (some international travel for training)
2. Valid Saudi motor vehicle license required
3. Flexible to support events and training programs outside standard hours
4. Ability to lift/move up to 16kg during system setup
